FIRST LOOK: Whitney Port’s New Clothing Line!

Courtesy Kitson.com; Charles Eshelman/FilmMagic

After much-anticipation, The Hills star Whitney Port’s line is here! The former Teen Vogue intern and pal Adrienne Baravetto have co-designed a collection of sparkly party dresses. From what we’ve seen, Whitney’s Eve line is a little more high-fashion than friend Lauren Conrad’s casual dresses, and perfect for a night out the town. Some of Whitney’s designs have already made it to the floor of celeb haunt Kitson, and online — and it looks like her collection will be going neck-to-neck with Heidi’s more affordable one. We have to say, this ruffle-necked dress totally looks like something Whitney would wear. Get it, $345, and another Whitney Eve look at shopkitson.com. Tell us: What do you think of Whitney’s new pieces? Would you wear them?

Join the New Kids On The Block to Fight For a Cure

Peter Kramer/AP

The New Kids on the Block are doing their part to fight for a cure during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And it’s an issue that hits close to home for the band. After singer Danny Wood’s mother Elizabeth “Betty” Wood passed away after a battle with the disease, Danny and the other New Kids knew they wanted to do something to honor her memory and also benefit their fans. “A lot of the women coming to the shows need to be aware of early detection. They’re in that age from 25-35 where they need to get their first exams,” Danny tells PEOPLE. “That was the problem for my mother. By the time she found out, it was too late — and I don’t want that to happen to anyone else when it could be prevented.” To help support the cause and keep the memory of Elizabeth Wood alive, the band is selling limited-edition NKOTB tanks featuring the Breast Cancer pink ribbon, $35, with all proceeds supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Danny, who chose the charity says, “They’re the best foundation I’ve worked with. I’ve done their races in the past and I know it’s something my mom would have wanted.” Click here to purchase one of the tanks and help in the fight for a cure. –reporting by Michelle Tan

Review: Religulous

(We’re re-posting our review of Religulous from the Toronto Film Festival to coincide with the film’s theatrical release this week)

By: James Rocchi

I contend we are both atheists; I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours. — Stephen F. Roberts

In Religulous, stand-up social commentator Bill Maher doesn’t just assert how he believes in one less god than many of us, and he doesn’t just craft bold, bizarre and hilarious moments of comedy and discussion with the help of director Larry Charles (Borat). More importantly, and more intriguingly, Maher states the film’s thesis in an introduction filmed at Megiddo, the prophesied location of the final battle of Armageddon as written in Revelation; Maher, much like author Sam Harris does in his excellent (if dry) book The End of Faith, proposes that religious belief, in an age of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, actively endangers humanity through encouraging conflict, promising rewards for irrational behavior, justifying artificial divisions and enabling other unfounded and unkind forms of thinking. Or, as Maher succinctly puts it early on, “When Revelations was written, only God had the power to destroy the world. …”

And then the opening titles kick in, a montage of Maher globe-trotting in search of people to talk to, and as the guitar riffs of The Who’s “The Seeker” ring out, we recognize that we’re going to get plenty of sizzle along with the steak in Religulous, lots of showbusiness to liven up the soul-searching. Like most documentaries dealing with weighty matters, though, the concern in Religulous isn’t that there’ll be no sizzle with the steak but rather if there’ll be steak to go with the sizzle; does Religulous have the right ratio of factual points to funny punch lines, a balanced mix of context and comedy?

Adnan Galib Looking To Sell Intimate Sex Tape With Britney Spears

adnanghalibandbrit

Adnan Ghalib is rumored to be trying to sell an intimate tape he claims to have made with Britney Spears when she was mentally ill, and still wearing pink wigs, which he claims she wore in the tape. He must be so proud of himself. The tape is supposed two hours long. The first 1 hour and fifty minutes probably show Adnan begging Britney to do it, five minutes of the actual act after Britney passes out, and then another 5 of Adnan smoking and talking about all the money he’s going to make.

While speaking to the U.K.’s Heat magazine, Adnan admitted that he not only owns a sex tape featuring the “Toxic” singer, but he plans to sell it as soon as an acceptable offer comes along.

“There is such a tape, but I won’t discuss prices for hypothetical inquiries,” he said. “Unless there is a locked-in deal, I will go no further.”

Oh, and lest anyone suspect he’s out to exploit his ex — beyond peddling a skin flick for big bucks — Adnan also told Heat, “I am not interested in selling out any other details about Britney.”

Interview: Bill Maher of ‘Religulous’

(Note: The following interview ran earlier this month during the Toronto International Film Festival. We’re re-running it now in anticipation of the film’s theatrical release this week.)

By: James Rocchi

Even after debuting Religulous, his new docu-comedy about faith in the modern world directed by Larry Charles (Borat), Bill Maher still has plenty of questions of his own: “I was saying to Larry in the car on the way over here: I suddenly realized that I don’t know the relationship between the Devil and the Antichrist. Do you? I mean, we both know those terms, but they’re not the same guy, I don’t think. I’m not sure if the Devil works for the Antichrist? Or the Antichrist for the Devil? Or is it like the Joker and the Riddler — neither of them work for each other, but they gang up on Batman …?” Maher spoke with Cinematical in Toronto about the difference between ‘changing your mind’ and ‘flip-flopping,’ what wound up on the cutting-room floor, getting in harm’s way for the sake of a great scene, why it’s doubtful he’ll follow Religulous with another feature film and much more.

Hi-larious Fashion: Video of Sacha Baron Cohen on the Runway

Last week, Sacha Baron Cohen crashed a Milan fashion show. Now video has emerged as well, and it really whets our appetite for his upcoming Brüno flick.

Out of his three stock characters, Brüno’s the least known, and yet the fabulous fashionista engaged in some of the funniest bits on Da Ali G Show. Not only did he send-up the laughable self-importance of the fashion world, he also challenged folks’ sexuality. A memorable bit had him asking a gay deprogrammer if he would get turned on if Brüno gave him a lap dance. (We know we would!)

Although some critics wonder if Cohen can repeat the success of Borat with Brüno, we’re betting he’ll get the last laugh, as long as he’s willing to suffer for his art. And oh how he loves to do that. Just watch the video. After his moment of glory strutting down the runway in his Farrah ‘do and Shadow cape (looking strangely hot), Cohen was detained by authorities. If only all comedians were willing to go so far for a chuckle.

Duffy: I Have Sold My Soul

duffyepa170608_450x370.jpg

Duffy has claimed that she fears that her meteoric rise to fame will lead to a breakdown.

The ‘Mercy’ hitmaker told WENN, “As a girl I thought I was superhuman… but I’m borderline on a breakdown. The scary thing is that this feels like the beginning. It would be easy to become a recluse… I have sold my soul.”

The hardest thing for the singer is dealing with all the fans. She added, “It can be scary when there are 15 lads on one side of a pub and a gang of girls on the other who all want a photo. I’m never calm anymore. There’s a lot to it I didn’t think of. It’s not the physical stuff – it’s mental.”

Adnan Has Britney Sex Tape

Adnan Ghalib has confirmed that he owns a sex tape featuring himself and the pop-princess Britney Spears.

The singer’s ex-boyfriend is ready to sell the tape for a right price.

He told Heat magazine, “There is such a tape, but I won’t discuss prices for hypothetical enquiries.  Unless there is a locked-in deal, I will go no further.”

Ghalib added, “I am not interested in selling out any other details about Britney.”

Little Crowe And Baby Urban Engaged

russell-crowe-cigarettes-kids-26.jpg

Russell Crowe has joked that his future daughter-in-law has already been picked out. The pride will be Sunday Rose Urban.

Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and their little daughter were visiting Crowe in his Australia home, where the future of Sunday Rose and Tennyson was decided.

The actor told People, “Nicole had one look at my younger son Tennyson, and looked up at me and said, ‘I’m a great believer in arranged marriages’. I believe she made the connection between Sunday and Tennyson now – so Tennyson is already engaged!”

Russell added, “Nicole and Keith brought Sunday Rose around on a Sunday, which I thought was appropriate. But Sunday Rose is a beautiful child with beautiful delicate features and it was fun when she brought her around Sunday – it was nice.”
